I mostly have a look at the front page once or twice a day and when there is a pic on there that appeals to me I'll look at it in the big version. You can than add pictures you like to your Favourites, so you can find them again easily and if you look at the Gallery of the artist you can also subscribe to his deviations. With that you will see on the front page if one of your watched users has added something and you get linked to the new pic from there.
