Yeah, he really seems to have a handle on the post-processing. His photos have an interesting look that's quite unique.

Thanks for the Nick Brandt link. That guy has the style that I aspire to. While I seriously need to learn some post processing after seeing that, his composition skills are mind blowing....

I think I need to ask my wife to get me his book for my upcoming birthday :D

I'm not typically a fan of cropping, but I've been doing it more and more lately. It's usually to get a different aspect ratio rather than to crop something out of the frame, though.

I didn't know Scott Kelby had a blog, I bookmarked it immediately. Interesting to see his ethics.

He doesn't like to crop, I crop in 95% of my pictures, but I do try to figure out what kind of crop I want when taking the picture. Removing distracting objects is no problem for me either. I don't add object, but I also don't copy objects. I also have no problem with making a scene look a little better than it did before. And as for double exposure of an image, I'm OK with that, just find it hard to do so. I've never really taken pictures of people so I don't know what I'd do.

I don't have children, but if I would hve I wouldn't try to learn them anything about photography, I would just give subtle hints. I think at that age the fun of it is the most important.
