December Challenge: Day 4 - Rex Auer

By Brian Auer • December 4th, 2007

Rex Auer

Rex Auer is a wrestler, an aviator, a truck driver, an Indy Car racer, an artist, and many more things — plus he’s my son. He likes to show off his “muscles” when wearing his wrestling mask (which actually came from Monterrey), so we played around with the wireless flash to throw some shadows.

  1. This portfolio rocks! Drama, energy, great light! Brian, now if only you’d shoot a stranger!

  2. hahaha, I’m working up to it. Probably this weekend so I can get out and meet a really random stranger. I was thinking Pacific Beach — they’ve got some real neat ones out there.

  3. Brian… each one better than the previous… great stuff!

  4. Thanks Susheel, but that’s a tall order to live up to — I still have a majority of the month to go!

  5. I love the shadow in the background. That’s what makes this photo so cool.

  6. it looks like your son does have muscles - so cute :-) very cool shadow effect

it’s hard but so fun to photograph kids, isn’t it? My 2.5 y.o. daughter is growing up to be a model, she absolutely loves posing, then she runs to me, asking - “Did you take the picture?”, looking at it on my camera’s LCD and screaming - “hey, that’s me!” :-)

  7. I know it, my kids love it too. It usually takes twice as long to photograph them versus anyone else because they have to see every shot.

  8. Oh your photo is extra. look cool . this is what ever child like to do. the reality.

I’m still working through my photos

trying to process all the good ones — I

still have another 30+ photos to go out

of my 258 I took. I’m pretty pleased

with the people shots I was able to get

    — the location was great for that kind of

    stuff….
