Photographers of the Olvera Street Photowalk

By Brian Auer • December 7th, 2007

It seems as though the buzz from the Olvera Street photowalk has died down a bit, and photo uploads have slowed way down. Some of the other photowalkers already posted recaps and whatnot (check the bottom of this post), so I wanted to do something a little different.

Here is a list of the photowalkers, and some photos OF them rather than from them. For whatever reason, photographers enjoy taking photos of other photographers — I guess because we’re more comfortable with the idea that they’re more comfortable with it. Anyhow, enjoy the photos… and let me know if I messed up any links, names, or whatever (this is a big list and it’s 2AM)

The photos are from several photographers, so click on them to visit the image on the photographer’s Flickr page. Also, I’ve cropped them all square for formatting, so check them out to see the full image.

And here are a few other blog posts from the photowalkers.

  1. Brian I have a personal request :)

I think it should go in the contact and not in comments but still…

Can you PLEASE add the number of comments in the feedburner settings, hehe I know it is a weird request but sometime I am interested to know how many comments you got on a post and I have to go all the way here to find out and I’m lazy :D

    Thanks

  2. Makes me wish I was there…or at least that there was something similar nearby to me…

  3. Brian, thank you for putting together this wonderful page. It’s a great reminder of a fun day.

  4. What a terrific idea. For me this is the one problem with a photographer meet-up. I hate seeing myself in pictures and you are right that photographers like to take pictures of other photographers.

  5. I think everybody hates seeing pictures of themselves. For whatever reason, we first pick out our own flaws and magnify them. I’ve always been the one taking the pictures, so I’m not in a lot of photos — but the more pictures I see of myself, the more comfortable I am with them.
