The Most Used F-Numbers Are…

A few weeks back, we ran a poll asking What’s Your Favorite F-Number? And with over 500 votes, here are the results:

Favorite F-Numbers

The biggest peak shows that f/2.8 is most widely preferred among the Epic Edits photographers, with f/8 rolling in at 2nd place and f/2.0 in a very close 3rd.

  3. Nice chart, 2.8 this is a little surprising!

  4. It would be interesting if the poll was done from actual EXIF analysis rather than just personal preferences. My preference is f1.4 (until I get a 1.2 lens), but my EXIF analysis shows that 2.8 is most used.

  5. Results aside, I too really love the way you did the bars for each column. :D

  6. 2.8 for me, I love the pictures of the lenses with the correct corresponding apature.

  7. Interesting! I’d also like to see the most used F-stop per category such as landscape, portrait and etc. Thanks for the post!
