Hi all,
I really wonder what is the difference between RAW and JPEG files! I have a MAC and I have problems with RAW files .. I don't have Photoshop ... Why are RAW files so much better? I haven't found a truly convincing explanation yet .. people talk about it, but don't really know why, or don't know how to explain why! Could you help me?

“Quick Tip: Format Your Memory Card”

Happens to me from time to time because of removing card from camera with power on or slipping it in/out of the card reader multiple times when demo'ing various skills for my digital photo class. And I get the error message below & the only way - is to go ahead and format the card and then run an image recovery program. I did find a free one online.

I did find a free recovery program that works well. Or, even if you have to spend a few $'s its worth it to be able to recover your images when things go awry. Yes I use this one:: http://www.artplus.hr/adapps/eng/dpr.htm & it works great. Although when I updated it, the free version had been changed to 'pay for'. So I uninstalled it & re-installed the previous free version.

Hi,
For the one about formating the card, you can try some picture recovery software first. I've had to use one a couple of times and I was able to recover most, if not all, the pictures in a card.
I used this one: http://www.artplus.hr/adapps/eng/dpr.htm but there are many more.
