Epic Edits is a resource and community for photography enthusiasts of all experience levels. Here, we explore many aspects of photography through discussion, example, and participation in group projects. Topics span from digital to film, capture to post-processing, camera gear to computer parts, and inspiration to execution. The community of Epic Edits is most important, and reader comments, messages, websites, and photos are highlighted as often as possible in order to give others a chance to be recognized for their efforts. In general, the concept of Epic Edits is to explore the medium of photography and learn from each other as we make our way through this hobby and profession.

Brian Auer

My name is Brian Auer, and I run and operate this site. I consider myself to be a fellow enthusiast when it comes to photography. I wouldn’t mind someday having the opportunity to make a living from photography, but for now I have a day job.

I use this website to share what knowledge I have gained over my years in photography. Topics can span shooting tips, buying guides, editing techniques, and various other subjects. The site is focused on the following weekly articles, just follow the links to see the latest in each category.

  • Features — In-depth articles aimed to teach a specific topic or idea.
  • Reader Polls — Questions and discussions on various photography topics.
  • Quick Tips — Smaller articles with a singular topic focus.
  • PhotoBlog — Explanations of how I process my photos using Photoshop.
  • Link Roundup — Most interesting photography articles from other sites.
  • PhotoDump — My favorite photos from the Epic Edits Flickr group.

In addition to this website, I operate the Fine Art Photoblog where I sell fine-art prints of my work along with 8 other talented photographers. I use this blog to showcase some of my work and give other photographers a glimpse of how I made a particular photo. You can also see my work on Flickr.
